Surface albedo plays an important role in the Arctic energy balance. To decrease uncertainty in prediction of Arctic climate change, it is necessary to quantify the accuracy of albedo representation in climate models. this research quantifies seasonal Arctic sea ice albedo and associated errors, using simulation, multi-sensor satellite and in situ observations. The albedo estimates and errors were used to assess the sensitivity of the Community Climate System Model (CCSM3) to albedo parameterizations. Presented results were derived during November 2005 - November 2006.
