Recently
the mass of cold bottom water has decreased. And the Oshoro-maru dataset revealed temprature of the "cold bottom water", which is generated during ice freezing period, has increased (3-4oC) since 2002. But we could identify the cold bottom water over the middle shelf and the inner shelf (Left figure, less than 1~2oC). our result in this year suggests that ice production increased during previous winter. |
The Observation of Boundary
Currents (the BSC and ANSC) |
|
| We observed the Bering Slope CUrrent (BSC) and Aleutian North Slope Current (ANSC) using the ADCP and CTD (Upper figure, station 151 - 164). We can estimate the transports of ANSC, BSC and on-shelf flow at the shelf break. | |
